Paderborner Pilger 5% is a best-selling lager beer in Germany and Vietnam, available in 330ml and 500ml cans. Lager is the world’s most popular premium beer. Paderborner Pilger is brewed by fermenting yeast from the bottom of the tank and aging it for 40-50 days. It has a fragrant hop aroma, a golden amber color, and a rich, slightly sweet taste.

It took 10 years to research the production formula and procedures for Paderborner Pilger beer, and to obtain a license to use the water source from St. Liborius Stream from the Catholic Diocese of Paderborn Town. The “Holy Cross” symbol on the Pilger beer can certifies the beer’s story as a Pilgrim beer.

What makes Paderborner Pilger beer special and unique is that the Paderborn factory uses water from a stream that is the site of the Holy Relics. This is the place where Saint Liborius once stopped to practice religion in ancient times, and it became a pilgrimage site for Catholics from the 17th to the 18th centuries. The German word “Pilger” means “Pilgrim” in English.

Although the Paderborn brewery began producing Paderborner beer in 1852, Paderborner Pilger beer was not introduced to discerning customers until the end of 2017 in the German domestic market and the end of 2018 for the Vietnam market.
